There are niche markets out there that have not even been tapped yet or if they have they are poorly filled niches.
Finding a niche market is not the problem these days. It’s quite easy once you have the know-how. There are many, many ways to find niche markets. Are they profitable? Well you can research the most popular keywords or keyword phrases using tools such as ClickAdEqualizer, or you can browse your local library and/or bookstore looking for common book ideas?
The problem is, just because a keyword or keyword phrase is popular or there are hundreds of books available on a particular topic doesn’t really mean that people are willing to spend their hard earned currency on a similar online offering.
Writing about your favorite hobby or what you know best doesn’t always reap the rewards either.
It doesn’t matter how well you know your topic, if people in that market don’t spend on online products, then your niche idea is doomed from the start.
Where are people looking to spend their money online?
Look where people are buying in real time for the answer. EBay. Your ultimate niche source.
Technique
Go to www.ebay.com, when the home page loads click on the “Buy” on the top menu.
You should now be on the “Buy page”. Leaving the Search field blank and All Categories selected in the drop down list (This should be the default) click on the Search button.
You should now see the “All Categories page”. This shows you every product currently for sale on eBay in real time. Here you can also see how many products are for sale for each category and sub-category. What a treasure chest of niche topics right here.
Now let’s see how we might find a popular niche market.
Click “See all Sporting Goods categories…” you will see hundreds of niche markets within the Sporting Goods category right there.
Now this is niche marketing. The category “Sporting Goods” alone is very broad indeed. If you go after this one, your doomed, however if you go after a sub category such as “Fishing> Fly fishing” or “Fishing> Rod Building and Repair”, you niche market chances are looking brighter.
Now click on the “Sell” on the top menu, then “Seller Central” on the bottom menu.
Select the “What’s Hot” topic, then “Hot Items By category” or go to http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/whatshot.html and see if your niche sizzles.
I think it’s time to start writing a new how to hot seller. Now if only I knew something about fly fishing.

Tons of books, courses and coaching programs are offered today online on the concept of how to make money online. The problem is that you can read for ages and yet not have an idea of how to build a profitable home business.
If you’ve read any amount of e-books, bought courses, or attended teleseminars on the theme of building a successful Internet business, you must have noticed that there’s a hole that almost nobody seems to fill. There’s one point that even the “big guys” can’t tell you, or they’re simply ignorant an unwilling to disclose to you.
BUT, HEY, WHAT AM I REALLY GOOD AT?
This point is that in order to build a really successful business online, you got to make a plan first and determine what your business will focus on. You have to choose something than you really like to do, an then find out if there’s a market, thus how many people are actively looking for products an services in that niche, and how big the competition is in that field.
One of the biggest problems that I’ve seen most people breaking their heads on is the question: but what am I good at? What business is right for me?
Well, I can safely tell you that this is a almost a dead end. Almost nobody will help you out with this problem. This is the point where they leave you on your own. Try it: ask any guru: so, what do you suggest, what business is good for me? Most of the time, they won’t know what to answer on this question.
And it’s not their fault. Let’s face it: nobody really knows what you’re good at, nobody has an idea of what you like to do, what is your hobby, your knowledge, experience. Those are the things that you know best.
THE SECRET THAT DID’NT TELL YOU
But there are some ideas that can help you brainstorm and help you decide what is a good idea of a successful online business for you. I call it the “process of elimination,” thus think of what you’re definitely not good at. Better yet, take 3 separate sheets of papers, name them like this:
First sheet - “I’m certainly not good at this.”
Second sheet - “perhaps I’m good at this.”
Third sheet - “well, I do think this might be good for me.”
Believe it or not, this simple technique will much simplify the process for you, yet very few people will teach you this. You simply eliminate those things that are certainly not good for you, so what your remain with are ideas that may be good for you an other ideas that may be even better for you.
WELL, BUT HOW DO I FIND IDEAS THAT I LIKE?
Now, how to do you start to think of ideas at all? Where do you find the three categories of things that might or might not interest you?
Here are some simple tips that you can use to start brainstorming and finding the ideal niche to you:
Browse magazines and keep an open eye on ideas of product and services.
Go to E-bay and see hot items that people are bidding on.
Go to the Yahoo Marketplace and see what are the categories of product and services that are listed there, so that you know people do have an interest in those items.
Check out Clickbank.com. You’ll find there tons of downloadable products. Hint: the products at the top of the lists in the various categories are probably those selling best, so that you know there’s a lively and hungry market.
And you can come up with your own similar ideas where and how to look for products and services that people are actually buying. Then you simply browse and scan the products and services to generate ideas for you niche.
FEED THE HUNGRY CROWD
After you come up with possible ideas, you’ll need to make sure there’s enough demand, thus many people looking for that product and service, and how exactly they’re looking for it, thus what specific words an phrases they’re putting into the search engines in order to find those products and services.
There’re ready tools that help you do this. Some are even free. Look around at Internet marketing sites to find powerful “keyword suggestion tools,” or do a search for them.
Next, make sure competition are not too high for each and every one of those words and phrases, thus not too many sites relative to the amount of searches (demand) come up in the search engines when you put in those words and phrases.
When you come up with a list of high-demand/low-competition phrases, you’re ready to start building your sites an profitable Internet business. Keep in mind: your site should primarily provide information, lots of fresh, relevant content on the specific theme of your niche, each page of your site build around one main keyword that has high demand and low supply.
Submit your site to search engines, directories and e-zines, to start getting traffic. You can write articles along with a link back to you at article submission sites. ezinearticles.com is a great place for this. Once you have a lot of traffic, make your site for a profit by promoting product and services for affiliate commission and placing paid ads on your pages.
This is a straight-forward common-sense approach. Implement this, and you’ll be way ahead of most sites on the Internet. Yours will be successful.
To summarize: choose your hobby as a theme for your site. Make sure your niche has enough demand and relatively low supply. Provide lots of relevant information an keyword-focused pages. Build traffic. Reap the profits soon.

So, you have already subscribed to an autoresponder service, and you have written some follow up messages that can be sent out for a period lasting for many months. You have secured for yourself and for your online business a stable pool of potential customers with which you can advertise your latest products and packages, and from which you can pick up a lot of sales that will contribute to the success of your various campaigns.
But this isn’t the only way by which you can earn from your mailing list. There are other methods you can implement that will monetize your email marketing campaign and increase your bottom line profit by as much as 1,000%.
Let’s take a look at 6 fantastic ways by which you can monetize your mailing list.
* Sell solo ads. Solo ads are advertisements that other internet marketers will pay for. How much you can charge will depend on two things: the size of your mailing list; and the response rate of the same. A mailing list of 20,000 subscribers with a response rate of 5% can easily charge $500 to $800 per solo ad.
* Sell line ads. Whereas solo ads will give the advertiser an entire email message to promote his products, a line ad will only be displayed in a line or two of a particular message you will send to your subscribers. Again, how much you can charge for a line ad will depend on the same factors that will determine how much you can charge for a solo ad. However, by their very nature, line ads command a lower price than solo ads, with all the other things being equal.
* Sell sponsor ads. Sponsor ads are introductory messages that introduce an issue of your eZine. You may have encountered these before with the newsletters you’re subscribed to. The words “Today’s Issue Is Brought To You By XYZ Company, Your Provider Of Online Business Needs” would be a generic template for sponsor ads. Just like solo and line ads, how much you can charge for sponsor ads will depend on the size and the responsiveness of your mailing list.
* Promoting your affiliate links. Affiliate marketing has long been hailed as the easiest and fastest way to earn some profit in the World Wide Web. The number one concern of an affiliate is how to promote his affiliate links. But if you have thousands of subscribers, you’d be able to reach thousands of people and expose to them your affiliate links with just one email! This is the reason why many internet marketing veterans have said that email marketing and affiliate marketing go hand in hand. If you have enrolled as an affiliate of a particular affiliate program, the best way to promote your affiliate link is through your mailing list.
* Back selling older products. Some online businessmen believe that their mailing lists are venues for the promotion of their newest offerings only. This would terribly restrict the power of email marketing. You can always promote products that have long lied dormant in your inventory. This can be done through clever back selling tactics. You can share a valuable piece of information, for example, then provide a link to the sales page of an old product of yours, one which is relevant to the topic you discussed. This way, your content has pre-sold the product, and your chances of bagging some backend sales would be great.
* Charge subscriptions. Some eZines or digital newsletters have amassed quite a reputation for themselves. If your eZine or newsletter has established a history of excellence in delivering premium information, then you can consider charging a rate for your subscription.
